Online Giving

Blue Circle Divider

Giving is a vital part of spiritual formation and maturity. Giving is an active expression of our faith. It recognizes God as our True Provider. It affirms our confidence in His ability to supply all we need and is an act of gratitude and dependence. When we trust God in our giving it allows us to partner with God and His work through our church and in the world.

Giving requires the highest standard of personal integrity and discipline. In 2 Corinthians 8:9, the Bible teaches that we are to give willingly, generously and cheerfully. In Malachi 3:10, we learn God's standard of the tithe or first tenth being set apart in all of our earnings as a gift of God. Through our tithes and offerings, we prove faithful; in the stewardship of all God has provided for us.

Online giving is a method of giving using an automatic transfer program that allows you to make contributions without writing checks.

AdventistGiving has more than 400 offering categories from which to select, and you will likely find the category you want. However, if you do not see an offering category listed, you can still give cash or a check at your local church. You may also contact your local treasurer if you wish to request a category be added to AdventistGiving.

Yes. 100% of the funds are routed through the local church.

That is up to you. You can make a one-time donation or set up recurring donations.

You can use a credit card or debit card linked to your checking or savings account. While this service is offered for convenience for making donations please note that the church incurs a processing fee for each donation. A FREE alternative is to use ACH (Automated Clearing House {"Electronic Check or e-Check"}). This will not incur any costs for the church.

Transactions usually take 2-3 business days, so contributions scheduled Friday through Sunday may not show up on your account until early the following week.

Recurring payments begin processing every 24 hours at 12:00 AM PST/PDT (midnight). If your payment is scheduled to be handled on the date the nightly task runs it will be queued up to be processed by the appropriate payment gateway for your payment type (eCheck/Credit/Debit) and recipient country (US/CA). If the act of initiating the payment process on the payment gateway is successful you will receive an email receipt of the transaction.

Depending on factors such as the payment gateway's processing schedule, business vs. weekend dates, and US holidays, your payment may remain queued for up to ~72 hours before it is processed by the payment gateway.

Once the payment is processed by the payment gateway you should expect to see record of the transaction at your bank or credit source. There could still be factors that slow the process further, but they are mainly outside of what is considered “normal” payment processing.

Your password, login, and state-of-the-art security measures protect your privacy online. Only your church treasurer will have knowledge of your giving, as is the case with regular cash and check contributions.

The overall cost is shared by the local conference, the union, the North American Division, and the General Conference to ensure you get full credit for your contributions.

Many individuals use credit cards for all expenditures, to help with record keeping or to gain bonus awards. Credit card debt can be a great temptation. We encourage you to be good stewards of your financial resources. By providing the convenience of online giving, we are not encouraging credit card debt.

The program does not encourage debt. The AdventistGiving option is for the convenience of those who prefer to do their banking and financial transactions online.

Explanation

God asks us to return a tithe. To do so recognizes Him as the Owner of all creation. This is not a financial transaction but an expression of faith and a matter of simple honesty. He designed it to be a blessing to us and to others. The tithe is foundational to His work and our participation makes it the greatest source of funding to advance God's mission. The purpose of the tithe is for the spreading of the gospel.
